    Over 1,640 hours of Island sunshine in 2019

    There was over 1,640 hours of sunshine on the Isle of Man during last year.

    That's according to statistics released by the government this week, which say June was the sunniest month of 2019 with 228 hours of sunny spells recorded.

    Meanwhile, July saw the hottest day of 2019 at 23.7 degrees whilst the coldest recorded temperature of the year was in January at -2.5 degrees.

    Elsewhere, the highest amount of rainfall the Isle of Man experienced in 2019 came in October of that year at 153.7mm - the month which saw floods devastate around 60 properties in Laxey.
