711 vehicles were stopped last month as part of the Constabulary’s Drink and Drug Driving campaign.
Between December 3 and January 2, Island police did 163 roadside breath tests and made 11 arrests around drink or drug driving.
Head of the Roads Policing Unit, Inspector Neil Craig, says that despite more than double the number of vehicles being stopped this year, those found committing offences was the lowest its been in four years.
He adds that the Isle of Man Constabulary will continue to have a stronger focus and proactive approach towards drink and drug driving offences on the Island’s roads.
