PAG urge Chief Minister to apologise to island over lack of Freedom of Information bill

Positive Action Group accuse Chief Minister of not delivering on promise

The Positive Action Group have revealed that Jersey have approved the long awaited Freedom of Information Law.

It’s something that the group have campaigned for here on the Island, saying the Council of Ministers will not put such a bill before the House of Keys.

They say this is despite Chief Minister Tony Brown stating many times now a commitment to do so.

They are calling for the Chief Minister to issue an apology to the Manx public for failing to introduce the legislation which they say has been promised by his Government for the last 5 years.

The group have vowed to lobby all General Election candidates and the new Government in the Autumn to introduce a Freedom of Information Act in the Isle of Man.
