Seven per cent of planning applications submitted on the Isle of Man result in enforcement action being taken.
That's according to statistics released this week by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
They show the department deals with between 250 and 300 enquiries each year.
30 to 40 per cent of applications are found to have no breach, 20 per cent of cases are not in the public interest to pursue and 15 to 25 per cent receive retrospective planning approval.
