Planning submitted to turn old bank into a restaurant

Two empty buildings in Douglas could be turned into new eateries if planning is approved.

Applications are currently under consideration to transform an old bank and a clothes store - creating new jobs in the process.

A change of use application has been submitted for the NatWest bank on Prospect Hill with plans to turn the registered building into offices and a café restaurant and bar.

It would be open from 8am to 12am - subject to an alcohol licence being granted - and could create 12 part and full time jobs.

In addition the former Topshop store on Duke Street could become an "upscale" Chinese restaurant serving 200 meals a day.

Planning is currently pending consideration to create a two-floor establishment which would be open from Monday to Sunday - employing 15 people.
