    Plans to appoint fisheries overseer

    The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is looking for a manager to oversee fisheries protection around the Island's coast.

    It's advertising for a sea fisheries enforcement manager at the Fisheries Division after restrictions on scallop fishing hit hte headlines in recent weeks.

    The department says the Manx sea fish industry is worth £12 million to the economy and its enforcement team needs an experienced manager.

    The post pays £43,600 a year with a 13 per cent out of hours allowance.
