Plans unveiled for first Isle of Man Cyclefest

Plans for the Island's inaugural cycling festival have been unveiled.

Isle of Man Cyclefest, which takes place in May next year, will feature the opening round of the Pearl Izumi Tour Series around Mooragh Park.

Over the following two days the championship programme will include three multi-discipline events including the 'Battle of Sky Hill' mountain bike race, a 1.9 mile 'Storm the Tower' hill climb, and an 80-mile gran fondo.

Manxman Mark Christian is working with Bradley Wiggins to prepare for the team pursuit at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
