Pleasure crafts allowed to head out to sea

From today, pleasure crafts are being allowed to head out to sea.

The decision to allow the activity to take place was announced on Thursday as part of the next steps from government in it's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Infrastructure Minister, Ray Harmer MHK, says numerous rules will be in place - only those from the same household will be allowed on board, and boats can only head up to three miles from shore, during daylight and for a maximum of four hours.

The rules also apply to kayaks, paddleboards and canoes - those wanting to head out must also contact the Marine Operations Centre on 686 628.
