Police intercept suspect packages

Police last week intercepted two suspect packages that were addressed to local financial institutions.

 

They were alerted to them following prompt actions by the Isle of Man Post Office staff, allowing the situation to be rapidly contained and pose no threat to the Public.

 

The packages were subsequently opened and examined by specialist Police Officers in compliance with the Fire and Rescue Service.

 

Both packages originate from Algeria and appear to be very similar to those received by local financial institutions in 2009.

 

It’s yet to be ascertained what the substance is, however there have been no side effects for those who came into contact with them.

 

A Police investigation into the matter is underway.
