The police are launching their annual campaign of winter car checks.
Officers say Operation Uplift will help tackle the seasonal rise in cars with defective lights.
Roadside inspections will be carried out to make sure vehicles are roadworthy, with drivers encouraged to use a checklist of the acronym 'POWDERS'.
This stands for Petrol, Oil, Water, Damage, Electrics, Rubber, and Self - the last one means to make sure you're legal and fit to drive.
The operation will run until Sunday, November 16.
