Police say a swan that was found dead in Ramsey on Saturday may not have been killed deliberately after all.
Earlier today officers asked for the public’s help saying they were investigating a ‘mindless act of animal cruelty’.
However they now say that a member of the public spotted the dead swan in the harbour several hours before the matter was reported to police.
They’ve also said an elderly swan from the area had not been seen for approximately two weeks.
Police would still like to speak to three youths who were in the area at the time who may have knowledge of what happened.
