Pigeons found dead or dying in the Douglas area have shown signs of being poisoned, according to Police.
It comes after the Department of Environment, Food & Agriculture has reported about 40 cases in the area of the Island capital.
Officers say the animals appear to have been poisoned by an unknown substance, which right now is suspected to be similar to rodenticide.
The constabulary is now investigating, saying the cases aren't just painful for the birds but could also endanger any animal that predates them such as household cats.
Anyone who has any information about these incidents which could assist authorities are being asked to contact the Wildlife Crime Unit on 631 212.
