Police warn against online payment scam

A number of people in the Island have been affected by a suspected online payment scam that could cost them thousands of pounds.

Police in Ramsey are urging the public to be aware following reports of people experiencing problems with their payments.

In some cases this has put payment of up to £5,000 in serious doubt.

Police are warning the public to only use recognised and reliable payment services such as PayPal.

It’s understood the reported issues to date are from sellers outside the British Isles, which makes it almost impossible to track them.
