Post Office make £2.5 million profit

The Post Office made a profit of £2.5million in the last financial year – and has said it will return half of this to the Treasury as a levy.

However, CEO Mike Kelly has said that the company’s core business remains under "immense pressure” and as a result the Post Office will continue to venture in to new products and international markets.

While remaining profitable, the Post Office is expecting the next 12 months to be another challenging year with physical mail continuing to decline, changing social trends and an ageing customer base all key issues.
