Manx Utilities says it's switched off power to part of St Johns as it carries out emergency repairs.
A crash at the Hope earlier means the road there is expected to stay shut for several hours.
But Manx Utilities says its engineers need to make emergency repairs to its electricity network, and has had to turn it off.
It says the work will take around six hours.
