    Praise for Island students after A-level success

    A-level students on the Isle of Man have been praised for their hard work and determination after securing an overall pass rate of 98.1 per cent:

     
    344 year 13 students collected their results yesterday - they mark the culmination of two years of study in sixth form at the Island's five secondary schools. 
     
    They'd sat exams in more than 40 subjects earlier this year - 7.3 per cent of students achieved an A* grade.  
     
    School improvement advisor Joel Smith says the figures are pleasing:
