Treasury's considering pre-paid debit cards, cash or cheque payments as alternatives for providing benefits to people once MiCards are axed at the end of the year.
In Tynwald this week Treasury Minister Alex Allinson was asked by Douglas North MHK John Wannenburgh what arrangements there are for paying benefits to people without bank accounts.
The minister explained there's currently 1,088 remaining MiCard users.
He says government's been looking at how to help those who may need alternative means of receiving the money:
