Health Minister Claire Christian says incorrect prescriptions were given 63 times in clinical settings over the past three years.
She was responding to a question for written reply from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
She explained the Department of Health and Social Care doesn't collect data from the private sector and so couldn't say how many pharmacies had dispensed incorrect prescriptions.
But she said out of the incidents involving clinicians, all but two were found to be either at no or low risk of harm.
