Prison officers receive Jubilee Medal

Just under a hundred officers working at Jurby Prison have qualified for the Queen’s Jubilee Medal.

Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood has praised the efforts of staff and said they play an important role in helping maintain community safety as well as helping prisoners prepare for their reintegration back into society.

The medals are being handed out to mark The Queen’s 60th year on the throne, recognising the efforts of key front line services.

The presentation duties were shared between the Lieutenant Governor, and the Prison Governor, Alison Gomme.
