A pilot project has helped show how the internet can 'make connections' for the isolated and the lonely in the Manx community.
Southern Befrienders has selected three people who'd never used computers or tablet devices before and Manx Telecom provided iPads and free 4G.
The six-month project hoped to engage the elderly with technology that could help in their day to day lives - Val is from the charity and says some of them were a little nervous:
