Proposals for a change of use to a pub in Lonan have been turned down.
The plans from Heron and Brearley for the Liverpool Arms to turn it into a residential space were rejected by the Department of Environment, Food & Agriculture this week.
In it's judgement planning officials said the evidence submitted didn't justify the loss of the public house.
It went on to say the application didn't demonstrate proof that its current use is no longer commercially viable.
