Public risking serious injury or death by entering restricted plantation areas, says government

People visiting South Barrule plantation are being urged to stay out of restricted areas.

The government's warning follows an incident this week where someone entered a high-risk zone to film heavy machinery doing harvesting work.

There were also cases of the public approaching machinery during works on dirt roads.

In a social media post, the government is stressing that even briefly stepping into prohibited spaces poses a risk of serious injury or death.

Tree harvesting operations at the southern plantation are expected to continue for several months.
