Police are asking beach walkers in the north of the Island to be careful of birds' nests over the next few months.
The period between April and July is hatching season for many ground nesting birds including Terns and Oyster Catchers who hide their eggs among the stones.
Parts of the Ayres are cordoned off and obviously marked out - the birds are protected under the Wildlife Act of 1990.
