A Manx home for a foot long slug
The worlds largest slug has been found - on the Isle of Man
The Ash Black Slug (Limax cinereoniger), is the worlds largest land slug, growing up to 30cm, has been rediscovered on the island after a gap of over 100 years.
The slug is dark grey in colour with a pale wavy crest running the length of its back.
Last recorded in 1905 with specimens sent to the Manx Museum, the slug was refound near Glen Auldyn by British invertebrate expert. Keith Alexander.
