    Remand for man accused of stealing bike and driving dangerously

    A Douglas man will stand trial after being accused of stealing a motorbike and driving it dangerously through the Island’s capital.

    33-year-old Christopher James Christian, of Kensington Avenue, appeared at Douglas Courthouse on Tuesday.

    He denied stealing the bike, and a helmet and goggles, from outside his address on October 16th .

    He also denied driving it dangerously and without due care and attention, driving whilst disqualified, having no insurance and failing to stop for a police officer.

    Committal proceedings - where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery - will take place on December 18th .

    There was no application for bail and he was remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until his next court appearance on November 27th .
