Firefighters spent 90 minutes helping tackle a gas leak in Port Erin yesterday, after a gardener ruptured a gas main.
Shortly after midday yesterday, fire crews were called to Magherrosien in Port Erin after the mains was hit by a householder digging in their garden.
The Fire and Rescue Service and police officers evacuated the area while Manx Gas engineers repaired the damage.
The incident took an hour and a half to deal with, after which residents were able to return home.
