The police have confirmed that a motorbike rider was killed earlier today in a collision involving three vehicles.
Despite earlier reports of the incident occurring at Greeba Bridge it happened on the approach to the 30mph restriction zone entering Crosby from the Peel direction at around 9.20am.
The rider, who is yet to be named, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road had to be closed for some considerable time while enquiries were conducted at the scene by accident investigators.
A significant number of witnesses have already been identified and come forward but Police are appealing for anyone else that was in the area at that time.
