Rise in waste going to incinerator

There's been a 15 per cent jump in commercial waste burned at the Braddan incinerator in the last year.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer gave the figures in response to a question for written answer in the House of Keys this week.

He said household waste delivered to the energy from waste plant also rose, by just under five per cent.

In total, the incinerator's primary and secondary units handled more than 50,300 tonnes of waste in the past year.
