Roads still being repaired from harsh winters of 2009 and 2010

The Infrastructure Minister has said he is pleased with how repair works are progressing on the Island's roads ahead of TT 2012.

It was anticipated that the works would not need to be as significant this year given the relatively mild winter, this however isn't necessarily the case with repair work from the winters of 2009 and 2010 still ongoing.

The price tag of a major roads overhaul would be in the region of £100 million, something that is clearly not viable given the current economic climate.

With this in mind Minister Cretney has said it becomes a matter of prioritising certain areas.
