The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has imposed new limits for the king scallop season, which opens tomorrow.
DEFA says 94 vessels with licenses for the Island's 12-mile limit can land 3,203 tonnes over hte next seven months.
Each boat will only be allowed to catch 1,050 kilos per day.
DEFA Minister Geoffrey Boot says the limits will ensure scallops are available for most of the season and there's no over-fishing early on.
