School honoured for 'pioneering' approach

An Island school has been awarded for its pioneering approach to qualifications for its students.

Castle Rushen High School has been named 'International Centre of the Year' at the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) Star Awards ceremony in Glasgow last Friday.

Specifically, the school was recognised for its programme of offering pupils SQA qualifications which complement traditional GCSE's in Design and Technology.

Education Minister, Graham Cregeen MHK, is congratulating staff and students calling it a 'significant' accolade for the institution.
