Education Minister Daphne Caine says 58 secondary students were suspended from school for more than 10 days last year.
She faced a question in the House of Keys this week from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
Mrs Caine said no primary school pupils had been suspended for more than 10 days, and only six pupils in secondary schools had been given suspensions longer than 20 days.
