    Seeds could grow big business for Island

    Local growers could make £300,000 a year by exporting seeds.

    That's if Tynwald agrees to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture's proposals this month - which would enable sales overseas. 
     
    It will ask to change legislation - aligning the law with UK measures to take advantage of the demand for local seed. 
     
    Calculations show the trade could boost the economy by £60,000 a year at first - agricultural policy manager John Harrison explains why it hasn't been done before:
