The Department of Infrastructure says it has just seven workers whose job it is to repair potholes on Island roads.
A freedom of information request to the department asked for details about employees and budgets for road repairs.
In its response, the DOI revealed it spent almost £572,000 last year on highway maintenance and another £147,000 on relaying road surfaces.
So far this year, it's spent almost £112,000 relaying roads.
