The Department of Health and Social Care says the Island will be getting shingles vaccinations, even though it doesn't know how many cases there are.
Minister Lawrie Hooper faced a Tynwald question from Rushen MHK Juan Watterson about the jab.
Mr Hooper said because it's not a notifiable disease, there are no firm figures for how many cases of shingles there are on the Island .
But he says Manx Care should be rolling out an immunisation programme for those most at risk in the next few weeks.
