Health Minister David Ashford says his department's looking into whether cannabis should be decriminalised.
This month, he's due to lay a substance misuse strategy before Tynwald.
In it, he says statistics show cannabis is the most popular illegal drug on the Isle of Man - it's the most common drug seized by police.
But Mr Ashford says the DHSC will now review the evidence on decriminalising small amounts of the class B drug for personal use.
