Bus Vannin's set to introduce six new double-decker buses, as it retires ones which are up to 14 years old.
The £1.4 million investment marks the first new double-deckers bought since the pandemic.
Director Ian Bates says some of the older buses have covered 600,000 miles and become costly to maintain, being prone to gearbox or engine failures which can cost over £35,000 to fix.
Two of the buses will feature historic paint jobs, Douglas Corporation yellow and Isle of Man Road Services red- to celebrate 50 years of a nationalised bus service
