Speed Watch volunteers to be recruited soon

Speeding motorists could be caught out by their neighbours - rather than the police - as soon as September.

The Department of Home Affairs will recruit volunteers for its Community Speed Watch scheme shortly - last year 73 people were convicted of speeding in 20mph and 30mph zones.

New proposals to ramp up fines are currently being considered - Glenfaba MHK Geoffrey Boot says he doesn't think that will solve the problem:
