A motorcyclist from Wales has been fined after being caught travelling at almost double the speed limit.
Police clocked 26-year-old Thomas James Haines, of Burry Port, at Hillberry on April 14th.
He was travelling at 71mph in the 40mph zone - Haines admitted the offence at the scene telling officers: "I can't excuse it".
At Douglas Courthouse this week Magistrates fined him £310 for speeding and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £50 - they also endorsed his licence with seven penalty points.
