A taxi driver’s been fined after admitting having six untaxed vehicles on the road.

Martin Conde Robert Moore of Port-e-Chee Avenue in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.

He pleaded guilty to six charges of having no valid tax on vehicles parked near his home on September 9 – including two Range Rovers, a Mercedes S320, a Volvo C70 and a Ford Mondeo.

Moore, who represented himself at the hearing, said he bought and sold vehicles to earn a living and hadn’t paid back tax on the six cars because they’d been impounded.

Magistrates fined the 40 year old a total of £1,050 and ordered him to pay £50 costs.
