Taxpayer stumps up 800 time more than church for C of E school

The Church of England has paid just over £1,100 in three years towards a CofE-maintained school, while the Manx taxpayer's paid more than £880,000.

The figures have been released in a response to a freedom of information request to the Department of Education and Children.

St Thomas School on Finch Road in Douglas is a Church of England maintained facility, which is about to move to Scoill Vallajeelt.

The department says it's spent £880,148.89 since 2014 running the school, with contributions of £1,124.84 from the Bishop and church.
