Teaching union claims Manx teachers have seen 'real-terms cut of around 30%'

A teaching union whose members are striking this week says it's suffered the biggest drop in wages across the UK, Jersey and Guernsey over more than a decade.

NASUWT members will stage walkouts on Wednesday and Thursday, meaning the majority of pupils will stay at home.

On Twitter, the union says Manx teachers have seen a 30 per cent drop in their wages in real terms since 2010.

It says it's tried for years to negotiate a solution with government without success.
