A technical fault at the Oncology unit at Noble's Hospital is being looked into urgently.
According to health officials, a fan unit which is critical to safely producing drugs for chemotherapy and other therapies in the aseptic room is not working properly and a replacement part is already on it's way to the Island.
Health and Social Care Minister, David Ashford MHK, says he's giving his assurance 'everything is being done to find a solution' and recognises it's causing 'understandable distress' to patients whose treatment programmes are being interrupted.
Recommissioning of the area is expected to take two weeks - patients are being informed and alternative care plans being considered in the meantime.
