Teen jailed as Deemster slams 'parasites' controlling drug trade

18-year-old Kyle Roscoe was told he'd been thrown in "at the deep end" by those controlling the drug trade in the North West of England.

 

On July 13th Roscoe was arrested in Pulrose in connection with another offence - he told police he'd taken heroin and 20 wraps of the drug, worth £300, were found concealed in his underwear.

 

Roscoe told officers that he'd been threatened by a dealer in his hometown who'd put a gun to his head and warned him he, and his mother, would be killed if he didn't come to the Island to pay off what he owed. 

 

At Douglas Courthouse yesterday his advocate told the court it was another case of a young man being "recruited" calling it a "sorry tale". 

 

Sentencing him Deemster Montgomerie told him "you're expendable and when you get caught you pay a heavy price" - adding "it is highly regrettable that I don't get these parasites from the North West in front of me". 

 

Roscoe, who'd previously admitted possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply, was jailed and handed a five year exclusion order banning him from the Isle of Man on completion of his sentence.
