Help is on hand for those struggling with their winter energy bills.
The Office of Fair Trading has sent out a timely reminder to those people fearing gas disconnection or other financial challenges that their free and confidential debt counselling service is on hand to help.
As part of the service the OFT will provide a debt counsellor to engage with Isle of Man Energy on the individuals behalf, a financial statement will then be drawn up based on the customer's income and expenditure with a view to reaching a suitable agreement with the supplier.
The process can take up to several weeks, so customers are urged to get in touch as soon as possible.
Householders are also urged to make use of Government's Energy Efficiency Scheme, which provides simple but effective energy efficiency items worth up to £750 to eligible households.
