    Three historic church buildings up for sale

    Bride Rectory, Patrick Vicarage and Andreas Vicarage

    Three historic church buildings are being sold by the Diocese of Sodor and Man as part of a reorganisation of the Island’s parishes.

    Bride Rectory and the vicarages of Patrick and Andreas have been deemed as surplus to the housing requirements in these parishes and as such are up for sale.

    According to the diocese Bride Rectory, which is being sold for £595,000, is too large and expensive to maintain as a vicarage and Patrick Vicarage, which is up for £875,000, is being sold due to pastoral reorganisation. 

    All of the parsonages are being sold through Black Grace Cowley and the funds raised from the sales will be returned to the Diocesan board of finance.

    Speaking to 3FM, the Archdeacon of Man, Andrew Brown said the sale of vicarages often sparked comment from the community:
