Tynwald looks set to tighten up the laws banning drivers from using mobile phones behind the wheel.
When the court sits next Tuesday members will be asked to back changes to regulations which date back to 2012.
The proposed changes are in response to an unsuccessful prosecution which the Department of Infrastructure says highlights the need for better legislation.
The department says the new rules would allow the law to be properly enforced.
