The Treasury Minister has addressed claims the new Earnings Survey produces unrealistic data.
The survey determined that during 2013 average full time pay rose by 1.3 per cent to £620 per week, the equivalent of an annual salary of £32,240.
Statistics also showed public sector workers earn almost £70 more than their private sector counterparts per week.
