Two children have appeared in court over a burglary at a filling station in Ramsey.
The boys from Laxey and Ramsey can’t be identified because of their age, and appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse via a live video link from secure accommodation.
Neither has yet entered a plea to one charge of burglary.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing police went to the Spar shop on Parliament Street shortly before 5am on May 20 after a burglar alarm was set off.
Nobody was found in the building but CCTV showed two people in hoodies using a scaffolding pole to smash glass before taking two bottles of rose wine and running off down an alleyway.
The boys were arrested the next day after a driver in Bride reported two teens had blocked a main road with traffic cones and were hidden in bushes nearby drinking wine.
Magistrates bailed both to their parents’ addresses in the sum of £200 and they’ll appear in court again on May 27.
