A drink-driver who claimed he'd had a couple of pints while waiting for a Chinese meal has been banned from the roads.
52 year old Richard Hewitt of Howe Road in Port St Mary was stopped on July 31 in Port Erin.
He was arrested and a breathalyser test showed he was one and a half times the limit.
Magistrates fined him £1,500 and banned him from the roads for two years as well as ordering him to pay £125 costs.
